Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

Download RallyRide, tap "Sign Up," and register using your university email (.edu). You'll receive a verification email — tap the link to verify your account before logging in.
RallyRide is exclusively for college students. We require a valid university email address to verify your student status and keep the platform safe.
After creating your account, search for your university and chapter within the app. Submit a join request, and your chapter admin will approve your membership.

Requesting a Ride

Open the app during an active chapter event and tap "Request Ride." Enter your pickup address and number of passengers. You'll be placed in the queue and matched with an available designated driver.
Rides are assigned based on a combination of your class year and how long you've been waiting. Emergency requests are given immediate priority.
You'll receive a push notification when a designated driver is assigned to your ride and another when they're on their way, including an estimated arrival time.
The emergency button flags your ride request as urgent and gives it immediate priority in the queue. It also sends an alert to your chapter admins. Use this only for genuine safety concerns.

Designated Drivers

Your chapter admin assigns designated driver duties for each event. If you've been assigned, you'll see the DD dashboard when you open the app during an active event.
Before going active as a DD, you must enter your vehicle's make, model, and color so riders can identify your car.
Rides are automatically assigned to the designated driver with the shortest estimated wait time, ensuring fair distribution among all active drivers.

Account & Settings

Go to your profile settings within the app to update your personal information.
Contact us at rallyridesafe@gmail.com with your account email, and we'll process your deletion request within 30 days. All associated personal data will be removed.
Make sure notifications are enabled for RallyRide in your device settings:
  • iOS: Settings > Notifications > RallyRide > Allow Notifications
  • Android: Settings > Apps > RallyRide > Notifications > Enable

Troubleshooting

Check your inbox (and spam folder) for the verification email. If you didn't receive one, tap "Resend Verification Email" on the login screen.
Your chapter admin needs to set up the chapter in the app first. Contact your chapter's leadership to make sure RallyRide has been configured for your organization.
Ride assignment depends on designated driver availability. If all drivers are currently completing rides, your request will be assigned as soon as a driver becomes available.
